WATER: Polk County and its cities won a $25 commitment to help build three projects aimed at heading off water shortages in the next two decades.

SCHOOL TAX: The Morning Paper’s Editorial Board urges voters to approve renewal of Polk’s half-cent sales tax for school construction this fall. The editorialist says the tax has been effective in its first 15 years, it has funded a wide array of projects and hits a broad base of consumers, and Tallahassee can’t be counted on for funding.
