VETERANS: Flight to Honor Mission 2 takes 72 aging vets to Washington, D.C., for a day to tour the memorials. (Scott Wheeler tells the story in words and photos | See more photos on Facebook.)

CONGRESS: In separate talks, Rep. Dennis Ross says he wants to get rid of President Obama, while challenger Jim Lange says he wants to get rid of Ross. (I didn’t see the Lange story in the print edition; presumably it ended too late to make deadline, unlike the heavily tweeted Ross event.)

CLOSING: A bankruptcy filing means Hancock Fabrics, 3245 S. Florida Ave., is closing. A closeout sale is expected to last several more weeks.

POLY: Lakeland’s Cliff Otto and two others are appointed to the Florida Poly board of trustees. (No link yet)
