NORTH LAKE MIRROR: That’s the new name for the city-owned neighborhood of cleared lots between the lake and the Intown Bypass. A new plan calls for developers to turn it into a community of apartments and townhomes.

CITY CHARTER: Former City Attorney Joe Mawhinney will chair the committee tasked with reviewing Lakeland’s charter and recommending changes in time for voters to approve or reject in November 2017.

GATOR LADY: The editorial board took a look at the former pro wrestler who has brought national attention to Lakeland for first trying to sell her house-broken alligator on Facebook and now is trying to get state regulators to let her keep it. Their conclusion: Let her keep #Rambo unless he’s deemed a threat to neighbors.
