While sales and profits rose during the third quarter of 2016, the $40.15-per-share stock valuation is down 4.2 percent from August. Analysts praise same-store sales increases in challenging times. Said one: “There is deflation on the shelves, and that Publix still manages to post gains is a testament to them.”
