Gladys Doby affectionately known as Momma to her children and “Grandma” for the Grands, passed away on November 28, 2020. She was born November 17, 1925 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Mr. Sol Pryce & Mrs. Gertrude Allen Pryce Dixon- Doby.
She loved everyone & the animals . She would always say, feed my animals wherever they were; in the yard, parks or even near the lake. Princess was a lifetime housewife to her husband, Jake Dody, to whom she was married to for 65 years. She came to Florida in 1956. As a Christian, Gladys was a Baptist. She loved fishing, reading the newspaper, her Bible, and traveling with her family. She frequently talked to us about Jesus and how He heals, delivers, and saves. Mamma always believed in feeding all creatures, big and small. She will be greatly missed; knowing that we will see her on the other side where peace, love, joy & eternal hope reigns.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Doby, and children, Artis Lee Doby & Gwendolyn Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Francine Doby Mitchell, Othera Richardson, Charlene Williams (Edward), & Jake Doby Jr., III; a host of grandchildren, Artis Dobie,Jr. (DeShonda) & Family, Robert Dobie & Family, Nadine Lowery (Anthony) & Family, Darlene Larry & Family, Calvin Eugenf Swain & Socterica , Sylvania Nesbitt (Eric) & Family, Shaunfene Allen & Family, Hayward Allen III (Sharon) & Family, Pierre Allen & Childrens; many grands, great grands, great great grands, great great great grands & a host of nieces, nephews, all in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, extended family, cousins, Eric Huggins , Henry Huggins & Family.
