Three Polk County school bus drivers tell The Daily Beast that they worry they’re not being protected against coronavirus. Among their claims: students have slacked off on masking and sanitizing; drivers aren’t told when their riders test positive; and drivers still transport siblings of students who are quarantined. A school district spokeswoman said that drivers’ brief interactions with students put them well below the 15 minutes’ close contact that triggers a notification; however, a new communications plan that includes bus drivers is being formulated, the spokeswoman said.
