The number of children under 18 in Polk confirmed with COVID-19 increased by 356 over five days last week at the same time more families are opting for in-school education, The Ledger reports. Polk’s school district reported last week that 72,958 children are attending brick-and-mortar schools — 70.3% of total enrollment — compared with 70,561 on Dec. 10 and 56,903 on Sept. 17.
