Mary Louise Wisecup Nicoson went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2021.

She was born in Hillsboro, Ohio to Clarence Wisecup and Ethel McCoy Wisecup on October 23,1931. They eventually moved to Illinois, where another child was born, Helen Mae Wisecup. Mary attended college for some years until meeting her soon to be husband, Charles E. Nicoson. Charles was home on leave from the Navy just in time for Christmas, and the two were married on January 2, 1952.

Over the years, the family grew to a family of six. They moved around over the years, finally settling in Orland Park, Illinois. Mary worked as a switch board operator, Sunday School teacher, nursing school director, and hospital operator while also being a loving and caring mother.

Mary has been a devout Christian since she was 6 years of age and she made sure that her four children and spouse lived a Christian life as well as being upstanding citizens who loved the U.S.A.

Christ guided her life in the good times and the bad times, and we know that she is so happy now to be in Christ’s glowing light and love for eternity.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. “Gene” Nicoson and son Charles T. Nicoson. She is survived by her son Michael Nicoson; daughters Melody Dapkus and Lisa Edenfield; sister Helen Luke; grandchildren Jennifer Borders, Christopher Edenfield, Michael A. Nicoson, and Timothy C. Nicoson; and great-grandchildren William Nicoson, Hailey Nicoson, and Alexis Nicoson.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
