I wonder what year the Art Deco building was erected?
Good question. Here’s a document that says it was built around 1931: http://cdm15809.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/ref/collection/p15809coll48/id/226
The Lakeland Electric building is getting historic 30 or 40 years later. Also, the Lake Mirror Center has elements of art deco also.
Thanks, Barry, for taking us with you! Will they do this historic tour again?
Robin, there’s another free tour on Nov. 14 at 9:30. Since last week’s tour headed south from Munn Park, I’m guessing the next one will go north, but that’s just a guess. Info and registration: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/downtown-lakeland-historic-walking-tours-2015-tickets-18631250572
