Two well-known Lakeland musicians — singer-songwriter Michael McArthur and guitarist Robert Phillips — are performing in separate downtown venues this week in support of their recording projects.
Phillips will perform selections from his forthcoming “Night/Dances” album at 8 tonight at Revival cocktail lounge. The performance is a fund-raiser for the release and international distribution of the album, a collection of dances and nocturnes composed for him. Donations can be made here.
McArthur returns to the Polk Theatre for his third show there Saturday at 8 to release his first full-length album, “Ever Green, Ever Rain.” (Listen to it here | Also, view videos from his September 2016 Polk Theatre concert with ISO musicians here and here.) McArthur fronts a full band Saturday. Opening are singer-songwriters Kit Allen Wiley (aka Hannah Dobson) and Van Plating (aka Rachel Plating). Keep scrolling for the full music calendar.

Would it be possible to get The Loft to list their jazz artists at this site? I realize that you probably ask the place to contact you, but it would sure be nice to know who’s playing there. That is, of course, because their own website doesn’t list their music. Just sayin’
Thanks for writing, Ben. I’ll contact you privately with the long answer. Short answer: We’re trying to get the listings. I do want to give a shoutout to Swan Brewing and Fresco’s for proactively providing us their music listings. Their may be other venues I don’t know about that send info directly to Ron Tomlin, who does a lot of the work to update the music calendar weekly.
