Kithara Duo

Lordy, we have a lot of traveling musicians coming to Lakeland this weekend. Here are some highlights, but first a mention of a local boy: Gene Eanett plays Revival tonight, signaling that the swanky new lounge is the latest downtown venue to offer live music, presumably of the acoustic variety. Keep scrolling for the out-of-towners and our live music calendar:

OK, so these are almost local, but Swan Brewing keeps bringing Central Florida artists we don’t often see in Lakeland, including solo singer Kasondra Rose tonight and party band DeLeon Friday night.

Jo Smith, a Nashville singer-songwriter with south Georgia graciousness, seems to like Lakeland. She returns to Hillcrest Coffee tonight and also plays Pink Piano next Wednesday.

Mother-daughter country duo Southerndipity, also from Nashville, appear at Ybor Live tonight and Duke’s Brewhouse tomorrow. And to prove Jimmy Buffet’s maxim that there’s a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning, their Florida swing also includes churches in Plant City and Wahneta.

Maddox Ranch out by I-4 and Kathleen Road is starting to host its own music festivals, stating with Florida’s Funktober Fest Friday through Sunday.

Classical guitarists Kithara Duo travel from Texas to concertize at Harrison Arts Center Friday night.

Country rapper Uncle Kracker comes to Wild Gregg’s Saloon Friday.

Masons Live keeps the country vibe going with the RCA Nashville Records duo Love and Theft on Saturday. (Are you starting to notice a Nashville-Lakeland pipeline?)

Chicago-based Christian/alternative band Of the Land will be at Hillcrest Coffee Saturday evening.

Here’s the calendar:
