Live Music in Lakeland
We’re going to start our music roundup with a couple of orchestral maneuvers. Grammy-winning guitarist Angel Romero fronts the Imperial Symphony Orchestra Tuesday performing the revered “Concierto de Aranjuez.” On Sunday, film composer Joseph DeBeasi returns to Lakeland to conduct pieces he composed for Southeastern University’s Veterans Day “Sinfonia” concert at the Polk Theatre.
Other musicians traveling to Lakeland this weekend include:
- Americana singer-songwriter Seth Brand of St. Louis at Swan Brewing Saturday
- The smooth jazz of Columbus, Ohio’s Norwin and Tommy B. (video) at Lakeland Loft Friday and at Federal Bar Saturday night and for Sunday brunch.
- Bluesy belter Kaleigh Baker (TedX Orlando video) returns to The Poor Porker Saturday with her band, Someday Honey.
LkldLive will spotlight some acts closer to home, giving them a chance to perform in a concert/listening-room atmosphere rather than on a bar stage: Classic rock and blues from Rusty Wright Band on Friday and mostly originals from Dan Signor on Saturday.
And finally, much-recorded Southern blues/rock singer-guitarist Damon Fowler begins an every-Monday-night residency at La La Lakeland next week.
