KeVaine DeCorey Hamlet, 56

Ke’Vaine DeCorey Hamlet Sr. (Corey) was born May 8th, 1967 in Tampa, Florida to Bobby Hamlet Sr. and Patricia Hamlet. He was educated in the Hillsborough County School System where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1996.

While at Jefferson he played Football and Baseball. After graduation he attended Hillsborough Community College. He developed a love for children and began employment at Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation in which he got the nickname “Coach Corey”.

During the span of his adult life Corey coached and mentored many children. Most of the children he encountered remained in contact throughout his life span. Corey became a member of Pilgrams Rest Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he served in many capacities within the youth ministry. Coreys proudest moment came when he welcomed his only son Ke’Vaine Jr (CJ) in 2014.

Corey was a dedicated dad and spent every moment he could with his son. Corey was an awesome son, dad, and friend. He was loved by many people. He was genuine with a heart of gold. Upon his passing Corey was employed with Verizon Wireless for 10+ years.

Corey was preceded in death by John Hamlet (Paternal Grandfather), Rebecca Patrick (Paternal Grandmother), Booker T Butler (Maternal Grandfather), Roberta Mathies (Maternal Grandmother), Mariet Dixon (Aunt), and Betty Jean Davis (Aunt).

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: Parents: Bobby Hamlet Sr. (Father), Patricia Hamlet (Mother), Ke’Vaine Hamlet Jr (Son), Samantha Simmons (Mother of his children),Tai Simmons(Stepson), Siblings: Bobby Hamlet Jr, Erich Butler, Ivin Hamlet, LaTonya Riley, Aunts and Uncles: Johnny McGriff, Lorenzo Thomas Jr. , Ruth McCrea ,Tina Henderson /Everett (Greenbelt, MD), Missy Billups (White Plains, NY), Dawn Butler-Odom/Micheal (Cleveland, OH), John Butler (Shrub Oak, NY), Shonta Hamlet (sister/cousin), Julie Nedd (Adopted Sister), Tanea Merritt (Adopted Sister), Scheryl “Madrina” Carrington (Godmother),Anna “Princess” Carrington (God sister),Chiantha Carrington/ Nikki (God brother), Christopher Carrington (God brother) Best Friends: Darlee “Trae” Nelson(Susan), Jamal Jefferson(Lakeria), Juan Fontela (Roxy).Nieces and Nephews: Kahlia Collins, Jamiah Collins, Nicholas Butler, Amani Hamlet, Marshawn Hamlet, Willie Lilley, William Lilley, Jahki Dixon, Jennifer Migues, Samuel Edwards, Myles Riley, Bobby Hamlet III, Sherice Hamlet, Javiel Hamlet.
