Keat Anton Pfleger, age 60, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023.
Keat was born on July 14, 1962, in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Ohio. After graduating from Grand River Academy in 1980, Keat attended Syracuse University, later moving to Lakeland in 1994.
Information Technology was Keat’s profession, which included working at his father’s company, Mid-Com, Farm Credit of Central Florida, and Ntelligent Networks. Before retiring, Keat had been a substitute teacher with Polk County Schools.
Keat was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Anton Pfleger. He will be missed by his wife, Elizabeth Greer Pfleger, his daughter, Katherine Pfleger (Jacob Smith), his son, Solomon Price (Gabriella), and grandson, Judas. Keat is survived by his Ohio family, which includes his mother, Meryl Ann (Keating) Pfleger, his sister, Robin (Pfleger) Harting (Thomas), nephew, Garrison Varketta (Monica), and great-nephew, River. In addition, Keat is survived by Solomon’s mother, Natalie Price. Keat also leaves behind two adoring pugs.
Keat was involved with multiple youth organizations, including Girl Scouts, Lakeland City Baseball, and the YMCA. He was a school volunteer with St. Joseph’s Academy and Polk County Schools.
Keat’s interests included photography, history, politics, watching sports (especially football and hockey), Big Bang Theory, Harry Potter, and playing Pokémon Go.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel, 328 S Ingraham Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 210 W. Lemon St, Lakeland, FL 33815. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 US HWY 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812. Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
