It is with great sorrow the family of Leroy “Lee” P. Joe announce that he suddenly passed away on December 15, 2020.

Lee was a long-time resident of Lakeland, FL where he planted roots after faithfully serving his country for 20 years in the Marine Corps. He spent the next 24 + years working for Geico where he recently retired. Lee was preceded in death by his parents Rita and Leroy Joe, his brother Michael (Joann) Joe and his beloved wife Margaret “Jill” Joe.

Lee will be lovingly remembered by his five children, Jenette (Jim) Auletta, Chuck Jansen, Dana (Fran)Watkins, Stacia Bannon (Tony Tidwell) and Stephen Joe, his endearing 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren whom he adored. All who knew him will miss him dearly.

He could be found watching FOX and the Philadelphia Eagles. Lee loved Cruising and trying his luck at the casino. He had many trips planned for his retirement. His love of food lead him to be a great cook; his famous meatballs and sauce will go down in history. Preparing meals was for friends and family was his passion and we will always remember times shared around the table.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, December 29, at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel. 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland, FL

Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
