Larry G Moody Sr went home to be with the Lord Jesus on November 26, 2020. He was born in Manchester, GA, but spent most of his life in Lakeland, FL. He was known by most as Larry or Larry G, but his family of origin all called him Butch.

He is survived by his son Gordon of Lakeland, FL, daughter Deidra McNamara and husband John of Maryville, IL, grandsons Luke McNamara and Jack McNamara of Maryville, IL, granddaughter Brooke McNamara of Virginia Beach, VA, and great-granddaughter Finnley.

Larry graduated from Kathleen High School and served in the U.S. Air Force in both Active Duty and Reserves. He worked for GTE for many years as a repair supervisor until his retirement. In his early years he climbed up telephone poles and wired houses and commercial buildings. At the end of his career he serviced pay phones. Remember those? He was also well known as a Walmart Greeter, where he was seen regularly by those who knew and loved him.

He came to faith in Christ on June 02, 1996, and faithfully served his Lord for the remainder of his life. He was an active member of First Assembly of God, Bartow, FL until 2008, and Harvest Assembly of God, Lakeland, FL until 2020. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and his kind, gentle, spirit.

Visitation will be held on December 10th from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes – Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road Lakeland, FL 33801. The funeral service will be held the same day at 10 A.M. also at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes. Committal will be at Oak Hill Burial Park, 4620 Hwy 98 S. Lakeland, FL.

Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
