Repairs to a slow leak in a sewage pipe have closed one northbound lane of Lakeland Highlands Road and will force both lanes to close for at least a week starting on Tuesday, city officials have announced.

The lane that’s already closed is between Clubhouse Road and Sean Lane, and the portion that will be closed starting Tuesday is between Clubhouse Road and Lake Miriam Drive, according to a city of Lakeland Facebook post.

The southbound lanes of Lakeland Highlands Road will be converted to two-way traffic during the 7-10 days needed to excavate, repair the pipe and then repair the road.

“All traffic is encouraged to avoid this area if at all possible during the lane closures,” the Facebook post says.
