John Joseph Cernik, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was born on July 4, 1952, to Lloyd and Blanche Cernik. John passed away on August 13, 2022 at the age of 70

John grew up on a small farm in Grafton, North Dakota. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1970. He attended Devils Lake Junior College where he met the love of his life Sherry. They married on May 11, 1973, in Grafton, North Dakota. He worked as a truck driver for over 49 years providing for his family and had just retired in October 2021 from Saddle Creek Logistics Services. Jack loved snowmobiling and to ride his motorcycles, loved old cars, spending time with family and watching NASCAR with his wife Sherry. John passed away peacefully at his home on August 13, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

Jack will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Sherry, his children Holly Miller (Michael), Michele Shute, Michael Cernik (Virginia) and Jenny Johnston; his grandchildren Sean Soden, Chad Johnston, Lauren Shute, Anna Shute, Briana Miller, and Mya Miller. Also survived by his brother Jim Cernik, sisters Mary Jane Ferguson, Susan Barsness, Janet Gerszewski and Monica Gorder. He is reunited in heaven with his parents Lloyd and Blanche Cernik, his brother Eugene Cernik and his sister Judy O’Toole.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20th from 10-11 am with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33810. The services will be live streamed. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
