John F. Costine, (Johnny), passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

Johnny was born January 16, 1954 in Dade City, Florida, to John (Harry) and Barbara Costine. He spent most of his childhood running the pastures of Cummer’s Ranch in Dade City. He retired in 2006 from IMC as a Chief Operator at the Nichols, Florida plant. Johnny and Willie(Sissy) married in 1972, in Lakeland where they have lived and raised their four children. He was a member of Webster Memorial Baptist Church. If you knew Johnny or was ever even in the same building with him, you knew that he was passionate about his Dallas Cowboys. Win or lose, he was their biggest fan. According to him, this was going to be their year. Every year… Go Cowboys.

In his early years, when he wasn’t cheering for his cowboys, he was at the Combee Arena in Lakeland as an announcer motivating all the bull riders, ropers, barrel racers, and even the fans. When he was in that booth, there
wasn’t a single soul at that Arena that wasn’t having the time of their lives… He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Willie G. Costine (Sissy) and his four children: Donny Costine (Kady); Johnny Costine, Becky Albritton(Clint);and Betty Ann Long in addition to his twelve grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, Mother Barbara Costine and brother Bobby Costine. He is preceded in death by his father Harry Costine.

There will be a Celebration of Life, September 18, 2021 3 p.m. at Webster Memorial Baptist Church, 1135 N Chestnut Rd, Lakeland, FL 33805. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
