Mr. James Albert Rich, Sr (Josh), 90, retired resident of Lakeland, Florida passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 surrounded by family.

Mr. James was born January 21, 1931 to James Lee Rich (Jim) and Amanda Wilson Rich (both deceased). He migrated to Lakeland, Florida from Wildwood, Florida. He graduated from Sumter County Senior High Schools in Wildwood, Florida. He served in the US Army at Fort Lee, Virginia and he was a Maintenance Supervisor with Publix, Inc. He attended Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. James enjoyed teaching his children and enjoying quality time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Bell Rich, three brothers: Henry “Pap” Rich, Frank Rich, Columbus “Ted” Rich, and one son: Aaron D. Rich. James is survived by his loving family; Brother, Theodore James Rich (LA, California), Sisters: Shirley Townsend (Miami, Florida), Inetha Hawkins (Killeen, Texas), and Gail Rich (Wildwood, FL); Children: Loriece Glover, Janice King (Reese), Jo Ann Rich, Joyce Rich, Jeanene Rich, Jeanetta Rogers (Walter), Jerald Rich, James Rich Jr. (Philicia), and Jerry Rich, Sr. Grandchildren: Larry Gaskin Sr.(Briana), Vivian Rich, Nikita Carter, Benjamin Rich, Adam Glover (Chanita), Aaron Rich, Jr., Shamar Rich, Nikki Poe Clark, Sheryl Rogers; Dathan Glover, Stephen Rich, Jeaniece Poe (deceased), Cynthia Rogers (deceased), Antoine Poe II(Antoinette), Sandra Cortez (Jose), Joseph Poe, Tony Rogers Jr. (Marcia), Sammie Poe, Robert Rogers, Deborah Dumont (Matthew), Maurice Jones, Eric Day, MeRandah Jones, Davaris Rich, DeJameyson Green, Dominique Kristen Green, Cacie Rich, Jeryka Rich, Jerry Rich, Justus Rich, Calvin Daniels, Trey Horton, Malcolm Rand, Micai Randolph, Special friend Clarence Gibson and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews who all love him dearly.
