James Allen Adams, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was born in Taft, Tennessee but grew up in Alabama before moving to Lakeland, Florida.

Lakeland was where he met and married Geraldine Weatherford on May 31, 1952. They were married for 69 years. James was one of 9 children, he had 4 brothers and 4 sisters. James enjoyed telling others about Jesus and his faith in Christ; he also enjoyed doing things outdoors hunting, fishing camping and country living. He was a life-long member of Gapway Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, son, Dennis Adams (Haines City, FL), and 2 daughters, Diane Jackson (Decatur, AL) and Pam Benton (Lakeland, FL); sister, Judy Shepherd (Bartow, FL), sister Louise Beers (Athens, AL) and brother Walter Adams (Athens, AL). He has three grandchildren, Clint Adams, Stacey Satterfield and Jennifer Echelbarger; and three great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Alana & Madison.

There are no services planned at this time. Condolences may be sent to the family at Central Florida Funeral Chapel.
