James A. Davie, 60, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020. Jim is survived by Deena, his wife of 38 years and was loved by many others who will miss him dearly. As an Army brat, Jim was born June 8, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany and lived in many places throughout his life but has lived in Lakeland, Florida since 1995.

Jim worked for Publix Super Markets and held many positions throughout his 43 years with them, his one and only job. Jim started as a Bag Boy, working up to store management before being promoted from the stores in 1989 into various positions with the corporate office for the remaining of his career. Jim’s last position was a Systems Analyst in the I/T Department.

Jim loved being part of Greater Hope Church plant started two years ago in Mulberry, FL. With his love of technology, Jim used his knowledge to help in whatever way was asked of him to help the church start bringing and sharing his love of our mighty God with the people of Mulberry. Jim was more of a behind the scenes kind of person and always smiled when he called himself the Grunt of Great Hope Church.

Due to current restrictions, a private service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10 am, it will be live-streamed starting at 9:30 am .

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made towards the Building Fund of Greater Hope Church, using their website, http://www.greaterhopemulberry.org/give .

Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
