Herman “TOP” Smith, 83, passed away April 2, 2021.

Herman was born in Pensacola, FL on Jan. 29, 1938 to the late John and Eunice Smith. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., having served from 1956-1976. He retired from Raytheon Service Company following his military career. Herman was a member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, and sang for the Florida Worship Choir. He also was a member of the Lakeland Amateur Radio Club, and was an avid golfer.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Tomiko Smith. He is survived by his children, Connie Rodriguez, Harry R. Smith, John H. Smith and Glenn F. Smith; brother, Richard H. Smith; grandchildren, Cortney and Sydney Smith and Kevin Mosely; 1 great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held, Thursday April 15, 2021 at 4 p.m. at Turkey Creek 1st Baptist Church, 4915 W. Trapnell Rd. Plant City, FL 33566. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
