When a bus carrying the Nova High School girls basketball team pulled up for the state championship game at the RP Funding Center Saturday night, head coach Jason Hively said he was stunned when he saw somebody carrying a “big rifle” in the parking lot. A gun show was being held at the venue at the same time as the FHSAA finals. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Whatever your feeling is on the Second Amendment, I don’t think the two mesh here,” said Hively, whose school sits in the same county as the Parkland high school where a gunman killed 17 people last month.
