
Floyd Gray Webb, Jr., 93, of Lakeland passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
He was born in Lexington, KY on November 30, 1927, to Floyd G. and Mary L. Webb. He attended St. Catherine’s Academy and The University of Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Navy WWII and the U.S. Air Force during Korean Conflict as a B-36 “Peacemaker” aviation electrician. He married the love of his life, Jeanette, in 1953. He moved to Lakeland in 1958. He owned and operated an automotive repair shop and service station in Lakeland.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; Floyd G. Webb Sr. and Mary L. Webb, sister; Katherine Kain, son-in-law; Franklin Howell, and grandchildren; Vicki Howell and Donnacha Stack.
He is survived by Jeanette, his loving wife of 67 years. Children, Floyd Webb III (Sandy), Deborah Howell, Stephen Webb (Karen), Patricia Bozeman (Randy), Michael Webb (Sally), Mary Jo Miller (Jeff), Daniel Webb (Terrie), Teresa Hammett (David), Philip Webb (Elani), Jeanne Bacon (Matt), Mark Webb (Angie), Gregory Webb (Ashley), 31 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and sister Mary Loud Todd.
Floyd was a talented man who had many trade skills that he put to good use as his family grew. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband. He instilled in his children, faith, morals, and great work ethics. He made childhood fun, exciting, and filled with cherished memories.
He has been a member of St. Joseph’s Parish since 1958. A viewing with take place on August 18, 2021, at Heath Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. The service will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on August 19, 2021, at 1 p.m. with the interment at Oak Hill Burial Park.
