The Polk School Board this week approved 15 new administrators, including assistant principals at five Lakeland schools: George Jenkins High, Sikes Elementary, Philip O’Brien Elementary, Southwest Elementary and Crystal Lake Middle.

The new Lakeland assistant principals are:

Lacy Emmerling, George Jenkins High

Emmerling was an acting assistant principal at George Jenkins High. She has degrees in English and journalism from Florida Southern College, and an educational leadership certification from the University of South Florida.

Dorothy Ewing, Sikes Elementary

Ewing was an acting assistant principal at Sikes Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree from Barry University and a master’s from National Louis University.

Tracey Flowers, Philip O’Brien Elementary

Flowers previously served as a reading interventionist and Title I facilitator at Padgett Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southeastern University and a master’s in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She also is working toward a doctorate in educational leadership from Capella University.

Kerri Foster, Southwest Elementary

Foster was an acting assistant principal at Southwest Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s in educational leadership from Southeastern University.

Talley Miller, Crystal Lake Middle

Miller was an acting assistant principal at Crystal Lake Middle. She has a bachelor’s in history, secondary education from Westminster College and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.
