Donald Ray Dozier, 67, was born to the late Richard and Ola Belle Dozier, June 10, 1953. He attended Goldsboro High School, 1971; after graduation he entered the US Army until 1974. As a young man, he loved sports; played basketball at the WA Forster Center, Little Washington, NC.. Upon his return to Goldsboro, NC for a brief period of time before moving to Lakeland to join his siblings. After arriving he worked for Morrison Cafeteria, Lakeland Electric and later, he began working for Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Environmental Services until his health declined.

In 1999, Donald met and married Teresa King with whom their union enjoined a blended family of love. As a family, the need for cultivating God in their lives encouraged them to join New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Ministry.

Donald’s love for his wife was like none other; she was the apple of his eye. He had an eye for fashion. He was not dressed until he had the right colors matching and hat. Donald loved his family unconditionally and each of his siblings had a special place in his heart. Donald was the life of every occasion with his jokes and storytelling; he would invite humor into most situations; no event was complete without him. These things, we will surely miss. He made lasting friendships and impressions. Donald enjoyed football as his favorite past-time and was a true fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was able to see his team return to the Super Bowl 55 in Tampa. On Sunday, February 7th, 2021, the victory continued when Donald was called by the Lord for his life’s victory celebration.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ola Belle Dozier; grandmother, Mattie Edwards; mother-in-law, Mary L. King; son, Demetrice King; aunt, Margie Vaughn; cousin, DeAngelo McDowell; and sister, Herberline Miller.

Donald leaves to cherish many memories his loving wife, Teresa Dozier; his children, Willie King, Terrance Lee, Jaquita Hamilton, Kimberly Draine Wilson, Samanda Barrett and Michael Farrier; two brothers, Molden (Brenda) Dozier and Bobby (Sabrina) Dozier; three sisters, Geraldine Gimblet-Knight (James), Wanda Cooper and Shirley Hatten (Dwight); 2 sister-in-laws, Beverly Bruce and Lena Bell (Vincent); 2 brother-in-laws, Tyrone King and James King; one aunt, Hellene McDowell (Joe); grandchildren; Ariel, Jadasia, Kaliah, Azira, Tanajah, Jiqwiel, & Tzharyn King; Donald Jr. , Drecari, &Dayan McPherson; Caleb & Samanda Farrier; Javis Mack and Lakya Barrett ; a host cousins, nephews, nieces and other friends.
