“I fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 4
Donald Ray Dozier, 67, was born to the late Richard and Ola Belle Dozier, June 10, 1953. He attended Goldsboro High School, 1971; after graduation he entered the US Army until 1974. As a young man, he loved sports; played basketball at the WA Forster Center, Little Washington, NC.. Upon his return to Goldsboro, NC for a brief period of time before moving to Lakeland to join his siblings. After arriving he worked for Morrison Cafeteria, Lakeland Electric and later, he began working for Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Environmental Services until his health declined.
In 1999, Donald met and married Teresa King with whom their union enjoined a blended family of love. As a family, the need for cultivating God in their lives encouraged them to join New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Ministry.
Donald’s love for his wife was like none other; she was the apple of his eye. He had an eye for fashion. He was not dressed until he had the right colors matching and hat. He made lasting friendships and impressions. Donald enjoyed football as his favorite past-time and was a true fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was able to see his team return to the Super Bowl 55 in Tampa. On Sunday, February 7th, 2021, the victory continued when Donald was called by the Lord for his life’s victory celebration.
