With the world in so much strife and turmoil, God decided he needed a new super angel to help him. So, he called upon the one he knew had the most loving and giving heart to help him. Dennis Leslie Proctor was called to heaven January 21, 2021. Dennis never met a stranger. He had so much love, kindness, and compassion in his heart for all. Those who knew him will know how much he loved animals, especially his dog Harley. He will be missed by many but no more so than by his family that he loved so much, and they him. While we may grieve here on earth, we also know that Dennis is in a much better place and at peace. No one was kinder or more loving and caring. All who knew him would agree.

Dennis left his family and is now serving God, helping the world. Dennis was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March 17, 1945 to Lavern and Lucille Hold Proctor. Dennis loved Lakeland and his community. He was very active in the Jaycees and held various offices over the years he was a member.

Dennis had a wonderful life doing what he loved most, making people happy. He founded, opened, and operated Lakeland Picture Framing Inc. since 1965. He received the Small Business of the Year award for 1999. He loved his work so much; he would go there each day just to see what was happening or had been completed each day. He refused to retire, as he loved seeing his staff and clients. He always had a smile to offer to anyone who came through his business doors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Lucille Proctor; sister Diane Cline; brother Charles Proctor; and great niece LeAnn Proctor. Surviving him are his wife, Landyce Eagles Westmoreland Proctor; sons Dennis R. Proctor (Jill) of Statham, GA, and Danny J. Proctor (Kelley) of Lakeland; daughters through marriage Stephanie Stuchiner (Oren) of Durham, NC and Kathryn Ashley Branch (Brandon) of Willow Springs, NC; Grandchildren Beau Proctor (Bailey) of Suwanee, GA, Ben Proctor (Lori) of Charlotte, NC, Megan Proctor (Mike Evans) of Lakeland, FL, Austin Proctor of Lakeland, FL, Joshua Puckett of Wilmington, NC, Dylan Puckett of Willow Springs, NC, Grace Stuchiner of Durham, NC, Lily Branch of Willow Springs, NC, and Ari Stuchiner of Durham, NC; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved mini schnauzer, Harley.

The family will have a private memorial. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
