Democratic congressional candidate Alan Cohn of Tampa says the elimination of Republican incumbent Ross Spano in last week’s primary won’t change the focus of his campaign, the Tampa Bay Times reports. The former investigative broadcast journalist is still focusing on exposing Washington corruption. He says he spent down his campaign war chest in his primary race and has to start fundraising over from zero. Republican nominee Scott Franklin of Lakeland reported $104,000 cash on hand at the end of July; The Times notes Franklin has a net worth of more than $7 million and has lent his campaign $400,000.
