With the local Congressional race getting national attention, the campaigns of Democrat Alan Cohn and Republican Scott Franklin unleash TV ad blitzes this week, The Tampa Bay Times reports. Cohn’s campaign is being boosted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and big donors from New York, Sarasota and West Palm Beach. Franklin’s ad surge is bolstered by inclusion in the “Florida Warriors” campaign of U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz of Daytona Beach. Most of Franklin’s campaign treasury came from himself and Lakeland supporters, The Times notes.
