Clarissa B. Ferris, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Thursday, October 29, 2020. She died peacefully at home from natural causes. She was born on October 6th, 1923 in Clawson, Michigan. Clare married Donald E. Ferris Sr. on June 20th, 1941. Don passed away on August 16th, 1979.

Clare is survived by 3 daughters and 1 daughter-in-law: Connie (Ken) Overholt, Juanita (Joe) Sarzynski, Patty (Neal) Gaylor, and Verline Ferris. She was pre-deceased by her son: Donald E. Ferris Jr. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Laura (Frank) Bragg, Kenny Overholt, Kimberly Overholt, Kevin (Sonia) Overholt, Keith (Jen) Overholt, Sean Sarzynski, Angela Kastner. 22 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

She was a lifelong resident of Hazel Park and Warren, Michigan. After a fall she moved to Mulberry, Florida to live with her daughter Connie for the last 5 years of her life.

Clare’s face lit up when she talked about her family. She was an avid reader and loved word searches and game shows. She loved Tiger baseball and went to live games even in her 90’s. Clare worked a minimum of 47 hours a week in her flower shop in Hazel Park, The Daisy Petal, for 31 years from age 55 to 86. She loved her job and that she able to work with her kids.

Clare was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hazel Park, Michigan since the age of 26. She served the Lord in many areas over the years. Nursery, Sunday School teacher, missionary groups, and so much more. She was faithful in visiting shut-ins and having missionaries in her home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at 10 A.M. at Heritage Baptist Church. 4202 Pipkin Creek Rd, Lakeland, FL 33811.

There will be a memorial at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hazel Park, Michigan in the spring.
