Black and silver tarps are being draped over the Polk Theatre today as the 90-year-old structure is being readied for fumigation. OLD PUBLIX, NEW PUBLIX: Demolition has started at the 1960-vintage Publix Super Market (store No. 11) at Grove Park. In its place will rise a modern 46,000-square-foot replacement Publix with a pharmacy and adjoining liquor store. We hear that the store’s mural is bring preserved.

Gallery: Tribute to Lineman Sculpture Unveiled
A sculpture honoring electric linemen as first responders was unveiled today on a lawn between Lake Mirror and the Lakeland Electric headquarters.
