Carol Ann Shepherd of 1005 Iroquois Trail passed away Tuesday evening June 9th, 2020 at her residence. Carol was born as Carol Ann Mack in Rockville Centre, NY on April 12th, 1938 to Adolf Peter Mack and Irene Anna Allan. Carol moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1968 and the last 41 years was a resident of the Lakeland/Mulberry area. Carol retired from the Coca-Cola Distribution Center in Lakeland, FL. After retirement she spent 5+ years at the Kash n’ Karry/Food Lion Deli on the corner of Shepherd Rd and Hwy. 37 followed by 15+ years at the Mulberry Pharmacy.

Carol loved her beloved baseball team the Tampa Bay Rays and rarely missed a televised game. She enjoyed the company of her good friends and neighbor Jan & Bill Kennedy, also her good friends Lillian and Ruth at Mulberry Pharmacy and Joan Vallee of Uncasville, CT. She had a passion for cooking and rug-hooking that she thoroughly enjoyed as well as everyone who had the privilege to sample her cooking. She managed to make it to her 82 birthday that was very special to her this year because ironically it landed on Easter Sunday.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Maynard Taylor Shepherd, her parents Adolf and Irene Mack, and her sister Joan H (Mack) Adams of Connecticut.

Carol will forever be remembered by her son(s) Jason W. Sigmund of the same residence in Mulberry, FL, Charles M. Shepherd of Port Orange, FL, John R. Shepherd of Boone, NC; niece Janet Mahlke of Deatsville, AL and nephew Thomas Carr of Killingsworth, CT. Four grandchildren; Chaz Sigmund and wife Kim / Houston Sigmund and wife Amanda / Lacey Ann Sigmund all of the Lakeland area and Jamie Shepherd of Port Orange, FL. Six great-grandchildren; Chloe, Aidan, Bradley, Zachary, Carson all of the Lakeland area and Mariah of Port Orange, FL.

Carol also leaves behind her precious canine companion of 15 years Angel.

Carol’s wish is to be buried with her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
