Brenda K. Copeland, 62, passed away on October 10, 2020 in Thomasville, Ga. She was born in Lakeland, FL on November 22, 1957. She married Mike Copeland in 1973, in Dothan, Ala. She moved back and forth between Lakeland and her family’s home place in Butcher Holler, Boones Camp, Ky., near Paintsville, close to the birthplace of her cousin, Loretta Lynn. She was named after country singer Brenda Lee. She loved fishing and dancing. She also enjoyed traveling, whether to other states, or anywhere her heart guided her.

She was preceded in passing by her Father, Bill “Willie” Butcher; her Mother, Virginia (Jones) Dawson; and her Brother, Bill Butcher Jr.

She was a graduate of Lakeland Senior High. She held various jobs, and enjoyed being a homemaker the most.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike Copeland; her Son, Mike Copeland Jr, and wife Robbin; her Grandson, Mike Copeland III, proudly serving his country with the 82nd Airborne Division, and wife Marisa; and her Great Grandson, Christian Michael Copeland; and 2 siblings, Anna (Butcher) Daniels; and Myra Butcher, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was exceptionally proud of her family above all else, and will be sorely and deeply missed by all.

She is interred at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland alongside her Mother.
