
Bjorn Gade was born on July 19, 1933 in Aalborg, Denmark, and passed away on February 14, 2021. He moved to the United States from Denmark as a teenager with his parents, Asbjorn and Kamma and his siblings, Ole, Liselotte, and Anna. He obtained his naturalization papers on September 7, 1961 and became an American citizen.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1950-1953, receiving 2 medals for his service. After his time in the Air Force, he attended Florida State University for a short time, before beginning his career with Gade’s Danish Bakery, where he started as a baker and later moved to Publix bakery where he made his way up to Bakery Manager.
He is survived by: his current wife, Deborah Faith Gade; his siblings, Ole, Liselotte, and Anna; his son, Niels Asbjorn Gade and his wife, Gwendolyn Cheryl Gade and their children Alishia, Abrianna, Ashley, Abigail, Anna and Wesley; his daughter, Christine Michelle Wambold and her husband, Steven Paul Wambold II and their children Michael, Robert, and Jocelyn; and his step-children, Rhonda and Phillip Kirkland, Butch and Lynn Benton, Belinda Martin, Sharon and Clay Dannelley, Janet and Danny Yarborough, Michael and Jennifer Cherry; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his nephew Bo and nieces Karen and Cassandra.
His is predeceased by: his parents, Asbjorn and Kamma Gade and his granddaughter, AllisonAnne Grace Gade. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf, putting together puzzles, collecting stamps, and scrapbooking from all his travels.
A visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 12 to 1 P.M. Condolences may be sent to the family at Heath Funeral Chapel.
