Coming soon to the Lakeland Public Library: improv class for adults, a music listening club in partnership with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, and a talk by author Therese Anne Fowler, known for her novels about Zelda Fitzgerald and the Vanderbilts. And available now: free little library bookmarks.

IMPROV FOR ADULTS: Class takes place at 2 p.m. starting Aug. 31. Register online.

ISO LISTENERS’ CLUB: The new partnership with the ISO involves monthly lectures (second Wednesday at 6 p.m.) and listening related to upcoming ISO performances and symphonic music in general. The series debuts Sept. 11 with a one-hour session on “The History of Music: Medieval to Today.”

THERESE ANNE FOWLER: The author of “Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald” and “A Well-Behaved Woman: A Novel of the Vanderbilts” will read from her works and sign books Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.

FREE LITTLE LIBRARIES: Check out the locations of free little libraries in Polk County on print-your-own bookmarks offered by the Polk County Library Cooperative.
