
Anne P. Smith, 88, passed away at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center on August 17th, 2021.
Anne was born on February 25th, 1933 in Mt Holly, NJ. She grew up on a farm in Medford, NJ and graduated from Mt. Holly High School. She married Charles in 1951 and they lived for 45 years in Medford, NJ. She worked at Lenape High School in Medford, NJ for 24 years as the Head Cook.
In New Jersey, they raised their 6 children and loved watching them grow up playing sports and being active in their community. She and her husband Charles were avid fishermen on the Great Bay in New Jersey before moving to Lakeland, Florida in 1999. She also worked at Dr. N. E. Roberts Elementary in Lakeland, FL for 15 years and retired at the age of 82.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her daughter Patricia and her son Jeffery. She is survived by her sons Glenn (Beth) Smith of Atco, NJ, Brian (Diane) Smith of Wellington, FL, Bruce (Sherry) Smith of Southampton, NJ, Charles Jr. (Angela) Smith of Lakeland, FL. Son in-law Thomas Arnwine of Medford, NJ, and daughter-in-law Kathy Smith of Atco, NJ. She had 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
To celebrate Anne’s life, the family will receive friends at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m.. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 820 Marcum Road in Lakeland, FL. on Friday, August 20th, 2021 at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland. Condolences may be sent to the family at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes.
