People interested in alternative healing practices have a choice of two health fairs in Lakeland this weekend — one a three-day festival spread over a ranch-turned-event-space and the other a free event at a new spa in Dixieland.

Advance tickets for the Mind Body & Soul Festival 2  at the Maddox Ranch range from $21.49 a day to $47.12 for the weekend.  (Tickets are higher at the door.) More than 1,300 people have said they intend to go on the festival’s Facebook page.

The festival, which runs from 10 a.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday, boasts more than 120 workshops on topics including yoga, massage, martial arts, meditation, nutrition, gardening and relationships.

Also planned: music performances, drum circles and camping.

Not welcome: drugs, alcohol and fireworks: “This is a not under the influence event!” the organizers warn on Facebook, saying they want to keep it family-friendly. “Random vehicle searches will be done.”

In Dixieland, massage therapist Brian White also plans healing demonstrations and music at a Health Fiesta being held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at his aWhiSpa, 214 Cresap St.

Local specialists will discuss topics including edible plants and herbs, acupuncture, kundalini yoga, numerology, oracle readings, soul portraits, juicing and kombucha, he said.

The theme, White said, is, “Your community may have more to offer than you know.”

Entertainment includes dance from Just Dance and the music of Brian Sutherland.
